About the doctor

Dr Gyan Prakash

Head, Department of Nephrology, Ford Hospital & Research Centre

Medical Director, NephroPlus Kidney Care Centre, Khemnichak

Dr Gyan Prakash is a senior consultant nephrologist in Patna. His work covers chronic and diabetic kidney disease, acute kidney injury, critical care nephrology, dialysis, glomerular diseases, kidney transplantation and cardiorenal medicine.

After training at KGMU Lucknow, GSVM Medical College Kanpur and ILBS New Delhi, and senior residency at IGIMS Patna, he has led the nephrology department at Ford Hospital since 2016. There he oversees more than 100 dialysis sessions a week and has built the department's protocols for CKD, AKI, dialysis and critical care, along with dialysis quality audits and infection-control work.

He believes patients do better when they understand their condition, so every consultation includes time to explain reports, treatment options and the lifestyle changes that protect the kidneys.
